Ukraine implements energy efficiency measures in the field of housing

This year Ukraine has increased the share of renewable energy in the total supply, while heat supply organizations have completed works on upgrading and construction of 1,000 new boilers to alternative fuels.
The Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine stresses that the issue of energy efficiency through the introduction of alternative energy sources is currently at the highest state level. According to experts of the Ministry, 28% out of 30,000 Ukrainian boilers are working on alternative energy sources.
In addition, this year the share of renewable energy in the total supply has been increased.
To reduce power consumption of housing services, it has taken a number of documents aimed at increasing the share of renewable energy to 20% by 2020.


Moreover, the Regional Development Ministry emphasizes that important instrument for implementing sustainable energy planning as well as alternative energy sources is the participation of Ukrainian towns in the Covenant of Mayors project of the European Commission. The project aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 20%, increase the share of alternative and renewable sources energy and energy efficiency by 20% respectively.
