Maryna Poroshenko and Penny Pritzker visited historic homeland of the U.S. Secretary of Commerce in Velyki Prytsky

On October 27, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker together with wife of the Ukrainian President Maryna Poroshenko visited historic homeland of her ancestors – village Velyki Prytsky in Kyiv region. U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt also took part in the trip.
In the course of her previous visit to Ukraine in autumn 2014, Penny Pritzker promised to return to Ukraine and visit the homeland of her ancestors.Maryna Poroshenko and Penny Pritzker visited the school of the village and an old building, which had been a cloth factory in the XVIII century. According to local researchers, ancestors of Penny Pritzker worked at that factory.
The U.S. Secretary of Commerce assured the President’s wife that the entire world supported Ukraine in its aspiration to create a powerful and progressive state: “You are not alone on your way to a successful state. We are always willing to give you a hand”.

In her turn, Maryna Poroshenko emphasized that the support of the world community was crucial for Ukraine, which had chosen and kept fighting for democratic and independent future. “I am also glad to see the roots of the Ukrainian nation all over the world. Such examples make me confident that the Ukrainian patriotism is limitless,” Maryna Poroshenko noted.
