"Ceasefire" in Donbas: Militants triple attacks in last day

Combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 40 times in the past 24 hours, including 18 times in the Mariupol sector, 12 times in the Donetsk sector and 10 times in the Luhansk sector, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.

In the Luhansk sector, the enemy resorted to armed provocations from grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms in the villages of Novo-Oleksandrivka, Novozvanivka and Stanytsia Luhanska. In the Mariupol sector, the militants opened fire from small arms and rocket-propelled grenades near the town of Maryinka, and the villages of Starohnativka, Shyrokyne and Pavlopil. A sniper was also active in Maryinka. Additionally, the militants opened fire from infantry fighting vehicles on Starohnativka.

In the Donetsk sector, the occupiers fired 82mm and 120mm mortars on the village of Zaitseve, as well as 120mm mortars on the village of Nyzhnie Lozove. They also opened fire from small arms and machine guns on the town of Avdiyivka, and the villages of Verkhniotoretske, Zaitseve, and Nyzhnie Lozove, as well as from infantry fighting vehicles on Zaitseve and Nyzhnie Lozove. "Despite these provocations, the Armed Forces of Ukraine unswervingly adhere to the Minsk agreements," the headquarters said.
