Ukrainian Prime Minister presented a draft Medium Term Plan of Priority Actions for the Government for the period up to 2020

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman presented at a meeting of the Government on Wednesday a draft Medium Term Plan of Priority Actions for the Government for the period up to 2020.

According to him, the Government has fulfilled its promise to prepare such a document before the end of year that was envisaged by the Government Action Programme presented in Parliament at the time of its appointment.

"I’d prefer we would have managed to do everything dependent on us and to become at last the government of another kind having an entirely different philosophy so that people could see us as those who really understand [the situation] and can bring about changes," said Volodymyr Groysman at the beginning of the presentation.

"I wish that we gave a very clear signal to the Ukrainians about where we are going, what we will get, what our further work will result in and have very specific priorities of development of the state from 2017 up to 2020", he stressed.

Volodymyr Groysman noted that this is a real, concrete action plan, which is based on earlier prepared solutions and programme documents: Sustainable Development Strategy "Ukraine - 2020", the Programme of Action of the Government, the Association Agreement with the European Union, the Coalition agreement and international commitments.

The Medium Term Plan of Priority Actions of the Government for the period up to 2020 is an inclusive document. Ministries with line experts have been engaged in preparing of it. The Government is open to further discussion of the Medium Term Plan, Volodymyr Groysman noted and encouraged to join in the process throughout one month media people and the public.

The plan bases on 5 key priorities and contains 85 topmost activities of the Government through 2017-2020 aimed to implement coherent and comprehensive reforms. Among the main priorities are as follows: economic growth, effective governance, human capital development, establishment of the rule of law and fight against corruption, security and defence.

"This blueprint provides what exactly we are going to do in the economy to make it grow, how the governance will improve within the country to ensure that at each level we would have professional authorities, what we are planning in the sector of security and defense, how we are going to develop human capital, how we will provide services to raise people’s comfort in the environment they live in, how we are going to raise social standards and what wages people will get," said the Prime Minister.
