Petro Poroshenko: Crimea is Ukraine. And the elections of the Ukrainian President will be held there

President Petro Poroshenko informs that the European and American partners support Ukraine in the non-recognition of the so-called elections of the Russian President in the annexed Crimea.

President: Ukraine stands in full solidarity with the people of Great Britain

President Petro Poroshenko stresses that the "chemical attack" in the UK is an attack on the sovereignty of that state. It was stated during the meeting with the personnel of the headquarters of the antiterrorist operation in the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The "chemical attack" of the Kremlin in the UK is a shocking example of using Russian neuroparalytic weapons in the territory of another state. This is nothing more than the encroachment on the sovereignty of the United Kingdom. Today, the British government clearly emphasized that it had been done at the direct order of the Russian Federation leadership," Petro Poroshenko noted.

The General vs the Admiral

The Obolon District Court in Kyiv is hearing a case in which former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych is being accused of treason and of aiding and abetting the start of war. Most recently, Admiral Ihor Teniukh, who was Minister of Defense in February and March 2014, and Verkhovna Rada Representative to Control the Activities of the Defense Ministry Gen. Volodymyr Zamana, who was Chief of General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces prior to February 19, 2014, testified before the court.
Adm. Teniukh stated that on February 28, 2014, during a meeting of the National Security Council chaired by acting President Oleksandr Turchynov he had announced: “Today we can bring together a military force of over 5,000 servicemen from across the country who are capable of carrying out military duties. We can toss them at Crimea but this won’t resolve the problem in the peninsula. We will simply station them there... And what about the thousands of kilometers of borders and Russia’s preparations for an invasion? If they enter Chernihiv Oblast in the morning, they’ll be in Kyiv by evening!”

Statement by the Press Secretary on the United Kingdom’s Decision to Expel Russian Diplomats

The United States stands in solidarity with its closest ally, the United Kingdom. The United States shares the United Kingdom’s assessment that Russia is responsible for the reckless nerve agent attack on a British citizen and his daughter, and we support the United Kingdom’s decision to expel Russian diplomats as a just response. This latest action by Russia fits into a pattern of behavior in which Russia disregards the international rules-based order, undermines the sovereignty and security of countries worldwide, and attempts to subvert and discredit Western democratic institutions and processes. The United States is working together with our allies and partners to ensure that this kind of abhorrent attack does not happen again.

U.S. Department of State: Crimea Is Ukraine

Press Statement
Heather Nauert
Washington, DC
March 14, 2018

Four years ago this week, Russia held an illegitimate, fabricated “referendum” in Ukraine in a futile attempt to legitimize its purported annexation of Ukrainian territory. Crimean residents were compelled to vote under scrutiny by heavily armed Russian troops. Russia’s claim that Ukrainians made a free choice in that sham “referendum” has always lacked credibility.
In his campaign rally in Crimea today, President Putin reiterated Russia’s false claims to Ukrainian territory in another open admission that the Russian government disdains the international order and disrespects the territorial integrity of sovereign nations.

Presidents of Austria and Ukraine: Legitimate elections of the Russian President cannot be held on the territory of the occupied Crimea

“From the point of view of Austria, it is clear that the annexation of Crimea is unlawful. And this is also the position of the European Union. Therefore, legitimate elections to the Russian Parliament and the elections of Russian President cannot take place in Crimea. And this is not only my point of view. This is a unanimous point of view of the entire Austrian Government,” Federal President of the Republic of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen noted answering the question of the journalists about the recognition of the Russian elections in Crimea.
